Guy began his musical training at the Royal College of Music as an organist, subsequently switching his principal study to voice before going on to study at the RCM Opera School. He left there with prizes in organ, recital-singing and opera.
His subsequent operatic career has encompassed over forty principal rĂ´les spanning operas from the baroque period right through to contemporary electro-acoustic works, performing around the globe with companies including the Berlin Philharmonia, English Bach Festival, European Chamber Opera, Kent Opera, Les Arts Florissants and Wexford Festival Opera. His solo experience on the concert platform includes most of the repertoire oratorios.
Guy’s work is currently focussed on conducting and singing teaching in South Wales. He is the Musical Director of Newport Philharmonic Choir with past positions including Cardiff Youth Choir and Cardiff Male Choir. He teaches singing in various establishments in South Wales including the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and has given English, French, German and Italian song classes to B.Mus. singing students there.
